Exploring the benefits of experiential learning
Share
Have you ever heard of experiential learning? It's all about learning through doing, and it's an incredibly effective way to help students retain information.
One of the biggest benefits of experiential learning is that it makes learning more engaging and interactive. Instead of just listening to a lecture or reading a textbook, students get to actively participate in the learning process. This can help them connect more deeply with the material and better understand how it applies to real-world situations.
Another benefit of experiential learning is that it encourages students to think critically and problem-solve. By engaging in hands-on activities, students are forced to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to problems. This can help them develop important skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.
It’s sometimes really tricky to do though! You can’t always take someone out on a boat to show them a buoyed channel, or put them in a collision situation to show them the correct action and as for showing them day shapes? There’s never a minesweeper around when you need one.
So, if you're looking for ways to make your classes more engaging and effective, consider incorporating some Lightship Learning products into your curriculum. Cheaper than a boat trip, easier to arrange than a collision and decidedly safer than a minesweeper.
What we’re trying to say is that our models can provide that experience easilly. Your students will thank you!
